Yule Ritual was on a full moon 2 days before the actual MidWinter Solstice.
Gifts of help asked for and received.
With Gratitude.
Moving slowly and letting go
of managing, of running, of planning and preparing.
Let others do and just be.
us and Ann & Lily and Sam & Chris and Katrina & Eric and Elizabeth.
Everyone masked, gently spaced, one person at a time inside.
It was a chilly winter day after some warm days
and before more warm days
then Xmas Eve snow
then the cool fog here now.
Staying in the framework and plan may not be sustaining
or what is needed at this moment,
but being in the moment
is all there is.

There is 11 more minutes of daylight today then when we gathered.
Hope springs eternal.
Hard to recollect that day from 11 days ago
though we have spent much time discussing our omens.
We pulled 3 sets of 4
just to make sure
because we needed that extra help
spelled out clearly
so we could really understand.
How lucky we are to be so blessed,
to be together,
to notice each other and our surroundings.
A week after ritual
a mink lay rolling in our driveway
probably diseased and certainly dying
but so beautiful and alive
while it was.
Everywhere around swirls concern
and love.
Notes and pics
We made the fire early
it was cold cold cold.
hours of fire tending
we are enough
all our prayers and sacrifice coming back to us
more and even more sacrifice
each in their own words reminding us
that it will be hard
we will need to firmly protect ourselves
and
reminding us of the tools
that we already have
to use
there will be disruption this season
using our courage and wisdom
and the strength of the Blackthorn
and the flexibility of the Willow
many pockets of stuff
Safety first,
Magic all ways
